I had to put feeders back on my hives here in Sacramento.  One of them took 2 1/2 quarts in 24 hours!  I've got some pollen patties saved in the freezer.  I'm thinking of putting them in the hives also.  I'd rather waste the food than lose the hive.

lots of rain here, but not much build up or flow until this week when the blackberries started.  not a good year....but, i heard that in town and at a lower elevation, the hives are building up so fast the biggest problem is staying ahead of the swarms.

just put a honey super on one hive....maybe i'll get a little honey if i'm really lucky :-(

Rain?  We just had a Lightning strike that lit up the house like a flash bulb and a roll of thunder that sounded like the roof was comming off.  It was lightning then thunder so fast it was one continuous event.  That was close.  Been raining buckets here ever since.  Good thing I live on an Island, I only have to worry about a flood during a Tsunami occuring at high tide.  (I live on a hill)
