Title: Packaging and Labels??
Post by: Queen Bee on July 02, 2004, 10:40:19 PM
Today, I took my label to be printed. I had one last year but it did not have the complete information(requested the gov.)  listed on it...So, I had to do it all over..I thought I might mention this to save someone else the headache.

I choose all 1lb jars, so I could have it printed on one label (instead of several different labels).

How did you do this on your labels?

I have the labels printed with all the info except the weight, which I write in, that way the labels can be used on serveral different containers.

Here is more labeling information than you will probably ever need.  Honey Label Information
Your state may set other requirements based on your level of production.  Generally the hobbyist does not have to meet as stringent labeling standards as the professional does.  It is likely that the hobbyist will not have to meet the same standards in their extracting and bottling environment, either.
Most catalogs offer preprinted labels, many offer custom labels.
