Title: re-queeninging question
Post by: ajm on June 27, 2007, 06:39:19 PM
I have a hive and it's has to supersedure cells.  I want to change the race of bees.  How long should I wait to introduce a queen after destroying the queen cells?  By-the-way the hive has been queenless for about two weeks.  The delay was because of queen availability.

If the hive has been queenless for two weeks, you should be able to introduce the new queen by now. If you wait much longe you will be competing with virgin queens that have hatched.
