Title: Hive Inspection
Post by: sean on July 01, 2007, 08:17:43 PM
Hi.Went through almost all my hives today detailing them right down to the bottom boards. found an average of 20 SHBs per hive had a wonderful time squashing them all. Had tried trapping them but they didn't work think i did something wrong though. but i had just had enough of seeing them scurrying away everytime i went into some hives.

I too have a hive that is infested with SHB's. I put out some fipronil bait traps. It has taken care of them in the past. My bees were actually attacking them.

i am not aware of any chemical traps sold here for SHBs. Some mechanical trapswere tested afew months ago so i may have to make some. Although to go through each hive was tedious i didnt mind it.
