Title: Guess what I found?
Post by: doak on July 18, 2007, 01:42:30 AM
I extracted three supers day fore yesterday.
I put the empty's out near the garden, about 200 to 300 feet away from my hives for a cleanup.
I had only one hive that had excess bees flying around it.

It could be that this one colony has a higher potential to rob than the others.
I am glad I noticed this, now I can exclud it in any thought of getting queens from.
Nothing I can do about it coming back from the drones, but it will be the next to be requeened.
Speaking of requeening, go to that thread.

It could be that that colony has a higher potential to harvest than the others. But they are not robbing, they are working.
Queen breeders use a similar test to select hives.

Or it's on the end of the row downwind and the bees tend to drift to it...
