What do you do with supers that are partially full of honey for the winter? freeze, remove, leave there?
Put them over an inner cover to get them to move it down into the brood for winter. Or consolidate from several hives to make up a box of them for a stronger hive that might need more food or, if you have all the same size frames, you can put them in for empties in hives that are light. If you can't leave them on the hives somewhere, the freezer is fine.
the box dose not have to be full to harvest spinem out just leave them the amount they need the rest is for you ;) RDY-B
I need to be full of frames though. Maybe not full of honey, but always full of frames...
This was going to be a question of mine also. I didn't see the answer I wanted so I will go a little further with the question. I have a hive that has a super with about 6 of the 10 frames capped over. Let's say it is the time of year that they will not be working anymore to store up and/or finsh the other 4 out. What would you do with this super? Can you leave it as is??? This is the question I would like answered. What will happen to the unused wax in the super?

Leave it or harvest the capped ones and put in some frames with foundation and then when they are extracted or whatever your process is, put them back in place of the frames with foundation.

Sure. Just don't leave an excluder on or the queen could get left below.

I'm not sure I understand. If it's foundation and it's flat, I'd leave it. If it's warped, I'd remove it.
