Title: BEE'S WORKING WATERMELONS
Post by: TwT on August 11, 2007, 10:03:19 PM
seen my gals working watermelons today, no not plants but watermelon my kids ate then threw out in the pasture, them Reine's was covered with bee's, after 7 straight days of over 100 degree temps and with a small if any flow going it doesn't surprise me, been in a dearth here for a couple month's now waiting on fall to get here and have hopefully a fall flow, but we will see...... thought about taking pictures but wasn't sure were the camera was sorry...... but it something when they will work opened fruit when there is no flow..... guest it isn't any different than working flowers, still get the sweet stuff..... makes me wonder if during a dearth I could put watermelons out and get a watermelon honey or some other kinda fruit.....

hmmm, what's the sugar content of a water melon.
although it tastes real sweat..hmm, if one asked me..i would definitly be in doubt, are they after water or the sugar.

they have plenty of water here, 2 ponds within 100 yards of the hives, I would say they were going after the sugar content if I was taking a wild guest.....
