Yesterday for some reason my bees went nuts. I had let out my dog who instantly was scratching at the door. I opened the door and let him in. He had been hit about 6 times. I thought that was odd because he hadn't been out long enough to do anything tha might get the bees worked up. I opened the door and there are about 20 bees hanging out at the door. And they are now coming after me. So I put my veil on and ventured outside. I don't know what caused he bees to go nuts but they were definitley in a testy mood. I remember Michael Bush had once said to stop robbing put a sprinkler on top of the hive.
I didn't have a sprinkler, but a hose with a spray nozzle will work. So I took the hose and sprayed up in the air at an angle that would rain down on the hive boxes. It took about 10 minuets. But the bees calmed down. Since my neighbors are close by keeping my bees calm is a good idea. I don't need a bunch of thugs hanging out at the door waiting for people to come out.
Sincerely,
Brendhan
Perhaps they wanted to cool off inside in the ac, its aweful hot out there.
Weird.
Maybe they have some AHB in them.
Brendhan, nice to see that you are home long enough to have "s" happen.
I really wonder what went on too, lucky that you were aware of your pooches needs and let her inside. Have a wonderful day. Cindi
