Title: Heaviest frame competition !
Post by: mick on September 05, 2007, 05:19:06 AM
Ok well I thought it would be fun to see who has produced the heaviest frame of the US and UK and European and Scandanavian and everywhere else in the Northern Hemisphere who has just had summer.

I have a nice prize for the winner, so grab those scales and the cam if you can and enter!

Yup, too late...all cut up and spun out...

I did have one that was partly around 3" ?deep?.  That was a nice frame, although the bees ate it all out and layed drones in it instead :'(

The heavy frames are usually when I combine drawn comb with plastic foundation.

Well I will put a starting point. I don't have pictures so you will just have to take my word for it. Today I had a deep frame full of honey. The whole thing weighed 11 pounds. After cleaning the honey out the frame weighed 1 pound 12 ounces. So there was 9 pounds 4ounces of honey in it.
