Title: Japanese Honey bees defense mechinism
Post by: Mklangelo on September 05, 2007, 10:55:14 AM
I saw Cindi's post on hornets and yellow jackets and it reminded me of this video.  I don't know if this was shared on the forum before but it's so fascinating I had to link it.

That was fascinating. I know when my bees are attacking the hornets that come around, they make a ball around the hornet and I thought they were suffocating the hornet, but who knows, maybe they are trying to heat up the hornet.

Perhaps they are trying to do what the Japanese bees do.
