Title: Mite Away 2
Post by: rayb on September 29, 2007, 10:23:45 PM
Yesterday, I placed Mite Away-2 pads on two of my colonies. Today, there is a marked decrease of activity around the entrance (both flying in and out as well as hanging around the entrance). This is our first time using it. Todays temperature was 78 degrees and sunny. One hive dropped several hundred mites/24 hours.

Is this a normal reaction?

Thanks, Ray.

Yes. that is what I observed. Guess bees. are inside ventilating the hive . Things returned to normal in a couple of days. Hope the heat wave isn't in your part of the country. Temps for the first week of treatment shouldn't go above 80 degrees.
