Konasdad, ooooh, now isn't that a beauty of a picture.  It really does make one ponder how these peculiarities occur.  Beautiful day, beautiful life.  Cindi

Timing is everything in these kind of shots.

Yes it is a nice picture, but it is a photo-chop.
I just blew it up in gimp (graphic image manipulation program) and the resolution of the birds does not match the resolution of the background.
In fact, when I clicked on the background layer, the birds disappeared.
I'm not trying to be a kill joy or burst anybodies bubble here and I am certainly not blaming Konasdad for not knowing.
It really is a nice picture and if someone had said," Hey, look what I just made up on my computer.", I would have congratulated them for doing a great job.

All that glitters is not gold.

I had my doubts about it also because I have a friend who is wonderful with photoshop and I can see how he fools around with photos. It is getting harder and harder to believe anything anymore.

I know you did not know Konasdad, but it is a fun photo never the less.

Iy was emailed to me by a friend. I had no idea but I just thought it was cool. The thought crossed my mind it was digitally enhanced but I have no idea how to ell. Now, how do you tell if its a manipulated?

If you blow it up with an image viewing program, the manipulated parts will become pixalated at a different rate than the background.
Or if you have a good graphic manipulation program, somewhere in the menu structure it will show all the layers.
In my case the background layer had no birds.

Several times yesterday I thought about what I had done and I felt bad about it.
I apologize if I offended anybody.

Konasdad, this photo is making the rounds of the 'net, it showed up on alt.binaries.pictures.nature the other day, too.

Tai, I feel that you feel bad.  Don't.  You honestly did not offend anyone, if they were offended, then they should lighten up.  I thought that it was interesting that such a pretty picture could be made from layers, that is what it is called eh?  I have worked a teeny tiny bit in Adobe Photoshop and I know a teeny tiny bit about layering, hardly anything at all though.

I for one am glad that you pointed out how pictures can be altered, that was a point worthy of imparting to us.  Some of us (meaning myself mostly), are not overly computer savvy, and honestly am pretty kniave when it comes to what can be done on a computer.  I am on the furthest tip of that ice berg for sure.

Don't lament over this, like you said you did yesterday, it is merely nothing to be worried about.  Carry on, all is well.

Have a wonderful and beautiful day, love our life we're livin'.  Cindi

Dont feel bad. I never intended it to be my "artistic shot" or anything like that. Just thought it was cool and posted it. I should have realized it was a fake when I could copied and pasted. A real photo would have been copyrighted and uncopyable(making up new words!).  I may still make a copy for my office just for kicks. Again, dont feel bad as it has no reflection on mke. I said i got it from the net and I did. No other facts, so no, I am not offeneded. I like learning new things and I thank you for taking the time out to teach me about photoshop.
