My brother lives in Genoa, Colorado (eastern plains) and is interested in taking up this great hobby. Is there a local source for bees in Colorado?
Thanks!
Have him contact the local Beekeepers association. They would be more than happy to help i am sure
www.coloradobeekeepers.org or
www.fortnet.org/NCBA. Not sure if the links will work, but I just googled colorado and beekeeping is all. Good luck!
Peggy, I see that you haven't been on the forum since July past. That is good that when you needed a question answered that you leaned on us here, yea!!! Why don't you come and join us more often, I bet you could tell us some stories of your beekeeping escapades last summer, ;) :) :) Have a beautiful and wonderful, greatest day. Cindi

Yes there is. A gentleman that lives about 1 hour north of Denver. His name is Clark Sloan and his number is 303-717-0899. He advertised some equipment in the ABJ and I bought some stuff from him. That is when he told me he is making NUCs for sale this year. He is going to sell the NUCs for $100.00 each and they come in a 10 frame box with 10 drawn frames and lids. So you get equipment with the NUC for a fraction more than the normal cost of a NUC. Not a bad deal as I have seen NUCs like that sell here for $125.00 a piece.
Look out. Cindi is starting to repeat herself
I think that is the same info I was given here in Colorado. Your brother lives about an hour and 20 minutes north of me. If he is interested in capturing swarms you can PM me his telephone number when summer gets closer. 2007 there were numerous swarm calls that people wanted removed here in our county alone. They were not even in walls but just hanging in trees and porches. Maybe if the other guy here needs to do splits I could call your brother and he would just need to come pick them up.
EEeeks, Jerry, no clue how two posts got posted, mysteries....I must be repeating myself, oops!!!!!
BMAC, that is one excellent price for a nuc in a 10 frame box. Wow, I paid $125 CDN for a 5 frame nuc. Excellent. Have a wonderful, great day. Cindi
