So, since I didn't see a January topic, I might as well start it :-P
Here are some photos that I've taken recently that I'd enter.
Thanks!

Oh my goodness, what awesome photos. Your son is so amazingly attractive. The other photos are precious also.
Annette
One of my favorite winter photos I've taken.

Scott, beautiful, I particularly loved the one of your Son looking at you, awesome.
Now the one of the mountains. You are in Salt Lake City. I remember when my Sister and her family lived there, she spoke of the inversion that occurred so often where she lived. Is that cloud part of this cloud cover that occurs? I am curious about that. I loved this picture too.
Ken, beautiful shot, I love the picture of the whisper of snow that I see in pictures like that. Great shots, guys. Have a wonderful, greatest of days. Cindi

Cindi -
The inversion happens because the smog and dust and such can't get over the mountains during winter since there is heavy cloud cover, and low winds. So far, we've been OK with that, and in my valley (Utah County - just south of SLC), we haven't had it really at all - maybe a little.
The clouds in this picture are of a storm system getting pushed on, and this was the tail end. We had just received some snow the day before, and some nice winds came along in the early morning and pushed it all away. The color of the clouds in my photo have been darkened a bit with Photoshop so you can see it better, but the smoothness and texture are just about the same as what I saw with my eye.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I think photography is such a wonderful expression of our beautiful world.
Scott
The winter beehives is just exceptional! It gets my vote!
Sincerely, JP
Scott, my Sister lived in the Cottonwood area, south of SLC, sounds like you guys might have been in a similar area. Great day, great life. Cindi

Yup! Definitely in my neck of the wood, per se. It's maybe 30 minutes North of me. Nice area!
Scott
Ken, that photo is so idyllic. So country, so peaceful. Love the snow blowing off the barn.
Also love that photo of the snow covered bee hives from Scott

I love it too. Excellent shot!
This may seem like a silly picture, but there's a story behind it. I never met my wife's Mom and this picture was taken on Mother's day some yrs ago. My wife was close to her Mom, and to cheer her up we decided at the very last minute to drive to Pensacola, Florida, just to see the sunset, and have a bite to eat. We were enjoying the moment and I had to take this silly picture, but we laugh and remeber that trip whenever we see this.

Sorry, I know its not really a January picture theme, but just came across it and wanted to share.
JP, ha, ha, ah, ha....now that is one cool picture. Isn't it funny the things that we do, and then years later, we can look back and laugh and laugh. I loved that picture and loved you shared it with us. Best of a beautiful day, Cindi
This is the train station in downtown Brookhaven, Ms, taken yesterday morning.

JP, great shot, it looks really cold. But I thought that you lived in Louisianna? How did you get that picture? :? :) :) Best of a great day, Cindi
I didn't take it that's how!!! Baaaahaahaahah! :-D :-D :-D
Copy and pasted from brookhaven weather website. We are great friends with the former owners and they called me @ 7am Saturday to tell me to get my butt up there cause it was snowing. Couldn't go though. :( Gotta go now, see ya.
Sincerely, JP
Ok, lets see if I can do this?
Check this out. Taken on a cold morning here in Utah.

Frantz -
Awesome images. I like the one of your backyard with the snow covering the bridge! We sure have gotten a lot of snow lately!
I did not see the photo from Frantz. The posting is not showing an option to see anything.
Annette
Franz, those pictures were absolutely stunning, it reminded me of postcard scenes that I have seen, beautiful, beautiful.
Annette, what you should see in Franz' post is two lines that have
photobucket
photobucket
both the lines are highlighted in blue. That is what you should see. If you don't see it highlighted in blue, then some is indeed array. Franz inadvertently put the photobucket link in two times I think because both links were the same pictures. But hey, Try and figure it out Annette, because when you see these pictures, you will know that it would have been worth it. I am curious why you couldn't see the blue highlighted words. If you find out, let us in on this mystery, I love a mystery, hee, hee. Have an awesome day, Cindi
Nothing, at all. Very strange as I can always see everything that is posted.

Annette, do you see it now? I still see everything. C.
Annette and JP. Maybe a thought here. close down the beemaster forum and reload it. I think there is some kind of gliche that you are experiecing. Try again, let us know. C.
Nope, nothing. How do I reload the forum???
Annette
Closed out, re- loaded still don't see them.
What the... Jp
JP, so you even see the two lines:
photobucket
photobucket? C.
Nope, nada, ain't seeing it.
, JP
JP, well, good luck, the pictures were very beautiful, regardless, I only wish you and Annette could see them. That is one of the wierdest things, probably others are experiencing the same thing too. Wonder if it may have something to do with security settings on your computers. I so not computer savvy, so I have no clue, maybe someone will know and can help. Off to watch "House" with oldest Grandson for his Granny and Granpappy night, a beautiful hour to spend with our beloved young man and only us. Have an awesome night and day. Cindi

Annette, what I mean was, just close the forum and then go back into it. If you don't want to lose this thread (sometimes I can't find a thread I was in when I close down the forum), push the button on the bottom that marks the post as "unread", and then when you got into the button on the top left that says "show unread posts since last visit" or "show new replies to your posts" then the thread will show back up again. I always use these two navigation tools for checking out the new posts. Have an awesome day, Cindi
Funny. Franz reposted the post and it looked identical to the one that was already posted. The photobucket words showed up in blue that linked to the pictures. They are indeed very beautiful, nice to look at them again, I like that. HAve an awesome day. Cindi
Sorry Guys, I will try to the imageshack thing. I don't even see my own pictures, or the links to them. I contacted Robo thinking that I was to young to post maybe, but he says I have come of age so that is not it. Anyway, I will try image shack now and see if I can get it to work.
Thanks for your patience, JP, & Annette

Cross your fingers
Frantz
Whew!!! Looks like this one is going to work.
Thanks for all your comments guys, The beauty makes it almost worth the cold!! -5 this morning.
UtahBees, you guys got hit the other day pretty bad, was down there picking up grandma the other day (Mon) and you guys got nailed didn't you...
Frantz, really, sorry, not seeing anything....
except.....
two winter pictures with lots of snow, fencing and a bridge, trees. Just beautiful! :-D :-D :-D :-D
Sincerely, JP
Good, Good, Good, now just need to make sure Annette is happy and we are good to start the day. Good luck today everyone, must go out in the cold.
Frantz
Franz, yes use ImageShack, that is a good program and everyone can see the pictures in your post right away, double click on the thumbnail picture and it comes up large and clear. Good job. Have an awesome day, careful in the snow. Cindi
Annette is happy, happy, happy!!!!! I can see, I can see!!!! So beautiful and peaceful.
Thank you for trying another way to make us all happy.
Sincerely,
Annette from cold 40's Placerville. Yeah! Yeah! I know you would not consider this cold, but we are all freezing here.
Annette,
did you click on the word"photobucket" in Frantz post?
It went directly to his gallery where he has the photos posted.
I know what you are saying, but never had the option of even seeing photobucket. I do this all the time, but this time for some reason it never showed on the posting for me. I am sure you would think I am crazy, but JP had the same trouble also.
Annette
Your not crazy Annette, I might have thought that but on my computer, the links don't show up either?? I don't know why??? Only the words of my post show up thats all. In the other forums that I visit, the photos acutally show up. Similar to the way that Utahbees photos showed up. Anyway, that was a little crazy, but I am greatful for all your comments.
Again, almost makes it worth the cold???

Oh yes, we sure did. We're supposed to get some more tonight or tomorrow too. There's like 2 feet on my lawn, and it's just beautiful!
Scott
Utahbees, 2 ft is a lot for you guys isn't it. You guys don't normally get that much do you. Not to deny you your kudos for your massive 2 ft, but check this out. We have had about 7ft this year out to the the ranch. This is just outside Park City, only about 5000ft. Note the height of the snow behing our little home made Yurt. ( I am pretty proud of it) This was taken the day that my wife and I had to snowshoe in to feed the animals. I could not get through with my bobcat to even clear it. Had to bring in a big 930 front loader to get it all clear.....

You're right. It comes and melts and comes and melts and never really gets above a foot. So we're getting it pretty good. Tonight and the next few days will be interesting.
Your ranch and farm is awesome! Very cool photos, and glad to know someone fairly close by that also has an apiary from this forum. Thanks!

Opps orry I tried posting a January 2008 Jamaican sundown pic but it wont let me cause Im new and I cant figure out how to delete this post. sorry.
BJ, welcome to our forum. I am sorry that your first attempt at communicating was a failure, meaning that the picture you couldn't post. Don't go away, I am glad that that you didn't delete your post. Show us your sunset, we would love to see it. YOu could get the sunset picture into our forum by e-mailing it to one of the Moderators, they will post it for you. When people join the forum they can't post links to other sites or photos after having been posting for awhile. This is a security thing to keep our forum safe and friendly.
Welcome to our forum anyways, tell us a little bit about yourself. You don't have to keep bees to be on this forum, but if you do, that is fun too, you could tell us about your beekeeping, welcome, have a wonderful day, Cindi
Why not post your photo for February as this January contest is over.
Annette
annette and JP, Dont feel bad because those links they talking about doesn't show on my computer either, glad he posted picture or I wouldn't know what they looked like when voting.....
Thanks everyone for the votes. Let's get on to February!
