Title: making labels
Post by: jsmob on February 02, 2008, 05:31:11 PM
Hello
This is my first post, but I have been reading all the coments here on the forum for a few months now.
I really enjoy how everyone throws in on a conversation. I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but how do you make the lables for your honey?  What software do you use?  How did you come up with the idea, so on and so forth.

Here are a few suggestions and of course you can make your own. Most if not all of the big companies that sell labels will print your information on your labels for a small fee.

I got my labels from Mann Lake. Very low prices, and they also put your name, addess and phone #(you gotta ask though) They have all the bottles you need and caps with seals.
I only have 2 bottles of honey left from last summer. I keeping them because they are soooo awsome to just look at and let other people see them. They kinda look like magic potion bottles with honey in them and they glow as lite gold does!
Im happy the way they turned out....Remember though, if you get them from a catalog theres gonna be more honey out there that looks like yours.
your friend,
john

My wife makes our labels with Avery's Design Pro.  We buy the blank labels at Office Depot, or Staples.

You could also use "the Print Shop" software.

I've gotten them from Amy's Bee labels, they are very nice.  She will send samples (I think).  There are several different designs, you can customize them a little, and she will send you an email to verify it before printing them.  She will also make a unique one or use a design you send.

If your in the UK and planning on selling your honey don't forget your label must be waterproof.

I use either Avery or MS Publisher software, and to get a waterproof finish I bought a colour laser printer and use Avery heavy duty parcel labels.
