You can buy them. I bought mine from Brushy Mt. They are only helpful if you have someone to help. :(

LOL, Michael...yes I noticed that! Perhaps some day someone will fashion a Uni-Lifter??
Small world I saw shelly at the Marin farmers market she was selling -there was also the large local honey company -the other guy found out i sold also and wouldnt talk to me :? but shelly was so fun and up on her game-it is always fun to talk shop with nice pepole like shelly :) :) RDY-B
I've noticed at the Markets, the people who raise their own bees are much nicer than the ones who just broker the honey and don't have a love of bees..
yep thats why I always take an OB hive love to talk bees and honey-other pepole are just interested in talking about why they should pay more for there honey -pepole see the differance right away 8-) RDY-B
I've been thinking about one of these lifters for awhile now. I think I saw a price of 69$ in Dadants. My buddy Paul, could probably make one as he's real handy working with metal. If I showed him a pic of this device he would make one...unfortunately, everything he makes seems to require a "Powerlifter" to be able to use it. I always wreck my back after moving my bee boxes it seems.....I guess I'll just buy one and have paul make a cart with some sort of winch to use when i dont have a helper.
your friend,
john
I bought one early last year from dadant. I believe they called it a two man hive lift. works great. it was made from electrical conduit pipe. would be easy to fabricate one.
