Title: Colony died -can i feedhoney to other bees?
Post by: Ericnwicklow on February 16, 2008, 01:57:59 PM
Hello all

I have lost one colony over the winter here in ireland ,there were not alot of bees in the hive when i looked for the first time this year, meaning what was in the hive was dead. When i checked to see if they had food there was 5 frames of stores and the cappings all look fine ,can i use this honey to feed the hive next to this or should i not risk it ?Icould use the honey for my morning porridge i suppose .
I have never raised a queen before any methods that you could recommend as i am a begginer and have been lucky so far and would really like to increase my colony numbers this year ,just a couple more hives would be great as i have really enjoyed my new found passion .
.Good luck to all for the coming year ,lets hope its agood one for the girls and there servants.
Regards Eric.

It shouldn't be a problem to use these frames for feed for another colony.

Thanks Jp

Will give to smaller colony for the spring build up as they are getting a bit light on stores .

Eric, where have you been?  I see the last time you made a post was November 06?  You must have had some pretty busy times this past times.  Anyways, welcome back, nice to see you posting again.  Have a wonderful and great day, Cindi
