Alright, I haven't hived new bees in so many years. And now I'm going to be expanding alot. Right now they are marked to arrive on March 15th. That seems way too early for central minnesota. (It is 5F right now...) I can't seem to remember when I have received them in the past.
Anyone else from minnesota going to be hiving around this time?

Seems way to early to me, too.
Even here in Delaware, which is a warm zone 7, I would wait until the beginning or middle of April.
Feeding will be more important but there will be little difference otherwise.
I'm south of you in Indiana, and I wouldn't risk hiving a package that early.
In Michigan were shooting for April 19
I agree with Brian, feed is the most important thing. I've installed packages in snow storms before with no ill affects.
in northern wi. I wait untill april 15 or later depending on the spring.

Geez...I wish mine would come in mid-April. I have to wait until the first week of May. Just in time to miss the better part of the best flows. :'(

I've been around for a while but as a reader not a writer. I use the hunt and peck method of typing so i'm more of a reader but some times the urge to hunt and peck just overwhelms me.!!

My hunting and pecking is getting harder to do. I don't have the letters N H any more and O I S B M are fading really bad. They will be gone soon. Either my typing skills will improve or I will have to get another key board.

Get some white letter transfers and renew the key names and cover with scotch tape.

Should be able to get transferable letters (rub on) of varying sizes at a stationary store. Little square of tape will last for years probably.

I'm a fast typist, too, years of transcribing from tape, I never look at my fingers to type! The key locations are so ingrained in my brain if I'm paying the slightest bit of attention to what I'm typing I realize almost before I do it that I've made a mistake and correct it without looking, too. Cindi has caught onto this, because sometimes you leave the shift key finger on just a bit too long and you and up CApitalizing the first two letters instead of just the one. :lol:
