My bees have been really busy bringing in pollen like crazy the last couple weeks. Not sure of the source.. Brian Bray said in another post that Alder is in bloom right now and he lives kinda near me. I really liked this pic I took and thought I'd share it with ya'll.

Dang.. our weather stinks here right now. Way below norm with snow and ice.
Thats a great pic.. kinda like setting a nice T bone about 5 feet from a caged tiger and watching him pace back and forth trying figure out how to get it. Can you see me pacing back and forth right now :-D :-D
I'm sure that you probably have some maples in your area as well as elms. These are two trees which produce pollen this time of year.
I have to agree with TBEE about the steak and caged tiger. To be frank I am so happy that you guys up west are getting some great weather and pollen is flowing!!! Spring could not come fast enough for me this year. All of the snow and ice should melt this weekend and within a couple of weeks we should be warming up. Keep up the great pictures for us to see!

Great picture! I want my bees...*whine* :'( The maples aren't going yet but the alders, heather & willow are. Yes, those were my sunglasses...was wondering where I left em this time! Once left em at TRF on the ground by the sunflowers (I needed a closer look @ bees) & had to get em the next morning..luckily she hadn't mowed yet ;) Still can't wait to meet the girls (human!!)
You notice the one with the pollen was ahead of the other 2 bees. Must mean they hive needs the pollen more than the nectar right now, or that pollen doesn't wiegh as much as nectar and the pollen carrier won the race.
