When puting my hives out near my orchard how close or how far do they need to be?

Put them right in it.  Apples are good early bloomers.  Your bees will love it. When the time comes, they will find their way out and about.

That would work fine too.Bees will travel quite a distance.Try to get the hives in the early morning sun to get the bees working earlier!!

My bee yard is on one side of my small orchard next to the garden.  Sun all day long--when it's out, usually it's hiding behind clouds.

Does the sun ever come out in that state???


My cousin lives near Seatle and my aunt and uncle live in Eugene , OR.

The closer they are, the less distance they have to fly which means more production less work, better for you and the bees. Put 'em smack dab all up in 'em.

We call rain liquid sunshine for a reason.  Oregon is south of us and call themselves Ducks.  Up here we're past webbed feet--can you spell FIN--it's Salmon country after all.    North of me is British Columbia (aka Khawhnas Illahi in Chinook Jargon)  Whale Country.
