No, I wasn't looking up gazing in slack-jawed wonder at the time :roll: I don't like the smell of bee "dookie" and have never tasted it nor will I do so willingly, I can only theorize what the taste is based on the smell.
I have tasted propolis, that is a lot different than "dookie". The taste of propolis depends on the source, anywhere from tasteless stuff that coats your teeth to more pine-y.

Speaking of bee dookie :lol: , here is a picture of our hives up in Maine - if you can see it (sorry, it was pretty dim that day, it was going to snow....again!), you'll see it's covered with brown streaks, and Greg said that the back of the garage was covered, too. Is this normal for bees who haven't been able to fly, or are they sick? Just a good cleansing flight, or dysentery? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

maybe normal, but certainly its possible for dysentery as well. Make sure you give them some fumegellin in the spring.
