Title: Girsl are busy today!
Post by: gunny on March 11, 2008, 12:54:11 PM
Temperatures in the low 50's going to hit 60's today.  Girls are very busy in my plum trees which are blooming.  Other kinds of plums, cherry, pear and apple to follow.

Lost 1 hive to winter, a lot of dead bees.  Makes me sick to think about that one.

Today I noticed the Japanese cherries had started to bloom, that means the ornimental plums should follow next week.  Alder and Maple are still going and the Skunk Cabbage is heading out real good right now.  Bees are bring in more pollen than nectar which is okay because the need to build up the brood and still have sufficient stores left from winter.
