I have been feeding the bees the cappings from the extraction/crush and strain of the honey. On the inner cover there is a round hole that is cut and a plug that has a piece of wood straddled it for ease of removing the plug. When I feed the bees like this, I leave the plug covering most of the hole. Well, the bees have that mind of their own and don't want one little bit of an entrance to get up there, other than something small that allows only a few bees up at a time. They worked hard to build this burr comb that allows entrance only to one side. They are simply amazing........have a beautiful and wonderful day, groove on our life we live. Cindi
