Title: Same Day for 2 Packages or wait a day between the 2?
Post by: CapeCod on April 13, 2008, 08:30:48 AM
Getting my 2 packages of Italians Monday the 14th.
Going to be in the mid 40s.
Question is, both the hives are only inches away from each other,,should I install 1 package then wait till the next day for the next?
so that 1 hive does not start out stronger than the other due to drifting.

I would install both the same day and use entrance reducers until the colony strength leads to a traffic jam at the entrance or they start bearding when it's hot.

I just did twenty side by side.  Half the night before until dark and the other half the next morning.

Thanks guys,,Its just that I remember seeing a post about this and could not find it.
That person suggested to do it in 2 different days?.
So they both get new homes tommorow.
