Title: Hives Constructed!
Post by: watercarving on April 26, 2008, 02:06:23 PM
Got my hives constructed. Just need to get the paint on. I put on the doors over the window.

Some 1x8 pine and Advantec. Going to drill holes for bottom entrance but left a gap I can use for a top entrance as well. These are built to take medium frames and the bars are compatible with medium supers.

Will let the girls paint their hive this evening. Got a nice pale yellow for them. They are going to possibly paint a flower or two for them as well.

The window didn't turn out too well because my jigsaw quit working and I had to improvise but I doubt the kids or bees will mind.

Looks like you've got a nice system going. Great pics. :)
What length are you going with? :?

Inside length is 42.5 inches. Will hold 30 bars and leave room for a top entrance and a spacer in the back.
