Title: My new colonies look like they want to fly the coop
Post by: BMAC on May 01, 2008, 08:41:02 AM
about 12 of my new colonies I brought back from the Texas work detail are so crowded they are starting for form swarm cells.  This was after I made 3 frame splits from them all.

Dang.....  I went out last night and started to shift frames of brood around to the weaker colonies to boost them a bit.

I sure hope I don't lose any before I can finish tonight.

Sounds like real good bees that are in great shape. You know having to many bees in a box is not a problem but a opportunity. Glad to hear they are doing so well.

I'd do a split if they are trying to swarm:

And try to keep them from swarming again:
