Title: Too late to order more nucs or packages?
Post by: derrick1p1 on May 02, 2008, 12:07:16 PM
There is a local gardener near me that would like to place some hives on his property.  Although he wouldn't plan on getting surplus honey this year, is it still possible to order packages or nucs this time of year?  If they can be found, would they still have time to get prepared for winter?  Any suggestions to order packages from?

Not sure of availability in your area, but I see a bunch of adds in the American Bee Journal for NUCS for the month of May.

There is plenty of time to get them ready to winter over.

I don't know how far you are from Rossman Apiaries in Moutrie, GA., but I just canceled an order for a 3# package of Italians.
I have no idea if they have a waiting list or not, but I know they now have canceled order.
