Hello everyone. I'm happy to report that I was successful at installing two packages in my back yard today, and was surprised at how smoothly everything went. I must give credit to the forum for all of the information posted recently, as well as in the past, on just that subject! On another note, I would like to mention that after the first package went in, I decided to let them settle down a little prior to starting on the second. I passed the time by putting up an old bird feeder and running a hose to it with the water just trickling into it. Before I even got the second package out of my truck, there were SEVERAL bees already lapping up the water! I guess since I have not seen any posts about giving them a drink, it may "go with out saying", but just in case, I'm saying it anyway: "Don't forget to water the girls! They're probably thirsty!!"

Pat, wonderful, you are now a beekeeper, hee, hee. Hiving that package is the most exciting thing to do, and the feeling of accomplishment is great. Now, sit back, watch and enjoy, you are in for the ride of your life as you get to know your bees, and it is a wonderful and good ride, full of adventure and peace. Have that beautiful day, love our life. Cindi
If its warm out its not a bad idea to mist the packages with a lil water to give them a drink for the long ride home.
