Title: Not My Idea Of Fun, But A Good Removal, Nonetheless.
Post by: JP on May 03, 2008, 12:41:42 AM
This colony built combs around three electrical harnesses and a couple of smaller copper wires. They're so much more fun to remove when they do this! (not!)

Lots of bees and ugly comb. After a couple of hrs I left the job and had lunch, re-grouped and went back in. I needed the break as they were wearing me out. Its a monotonous job cutting combs around wires, very time consuming and messy!

I was down to three combs and I see the queen but I think she had some honey on her cause she was acting a lil weird. Well before I could catch her she flies down to who knows where, but I trusted she wouldn't go very far.

I found her later where the concrete patio and brick wall meet not three feet from where I was working.

So a nice ending to a very taxing day.

JP I do love seeing your pics!  It is so amazing to me how they make their homes around everything!  That looks like a lot of work.  Is that honey drops on the wires at the end??  They shine in the pics!  Jody

Jody, you know the saying give them an inch, they'll take a mile, wow how true with bees and their building combs around stuff.

Yep, a lil honey droplets.

Have you seen pics of the lawnmower hive?

Great pictures!  Great Job!   What poka-bee said and keep 'em coming!

Just wish the weather wouldn't have been as severe as it was yesterday...

Attention Boys and Girls this is an excellent example of why you have to have a clue as to what you are doing. If you cut that comb wrong you end up in a hospital and  have an angry homeowner.

Excellent job JP.

Sincerely,
Brendhan
