Title: Paper nuc boxes?
Post by: johnnybigfish on May 03, 2008, 01:38:39 AM
I just bought 5 wax coated , cardboard nuc boxes(5 was the minimum order from Dadants).....It took me awhile to figure out how to assemble them as the directions werent so clear to me. Anyways, I have these metal split type, flat, gold colored tack/nails which are included included to fastten the boxes together. How am I supposed to use these? They arent stiff enough to just penetrate the cardboard with. Got any ideas?

Your lucky I picked them up my self and I did not have to order 5 but then again I did not get any tack nails to hold those dang flaps on the inside from opening up. What you do is take a nail and poke a hole and then place the tack in the hole. You will also need to use that nail to open up the vent holes a little more or the bees will suffercate.

Good deal, Angie!
I was thinkin there should have been pre-cut slots for the pins.
I'll make the airholes bigger too!
Thanks again for the help!
