Title: two queen hive question
Post by: ajm on May 05, 2008, 06:47:28 PM
I want to try a two queen hive.  I've read M. Bush's two queen hive article.  I need a little more help understanding how to do it.  I don't mind to do a long hive or a traditional 10 frame hive.  I would really appreciate some help.

Thanks ajm

There are a lot of ways to do it.  Many use standard equipment and a lot more labor.  Some are more of just stacking the deck to end up with two queens.  Some just put queen cells above an excluder with a top entrance (so she can mate).  Some just move some brood both above and below to get the bees to raise a second queen.  Some move some brood above a double screen board and then recombine after they raise a queen.
