Title: Black Locust and clover
Post by: KONASDAD on May 08, 2008, 05:29:50 PM
Today, the black locust trees and a few clover flowers made their appearance . For my area, this is the gold standard of blooms for honey production. Need a little rain and flow should be phenomenal.

I'm glad I saw this post.  I noticed a lot of trees with white flowers on them and wasn't sure what it was.  I meant to pick a sample to check the internet, but now I don't have to.  It's the black locust.

We got rain last night.  I'm very pleased with how this spring weather is turning out.  Seems to be perfect to get optimal nectar flows.

I don't see any clover popping out yet.  I'm going to have to see if the supers need emptied and make room for it.  I've been looking forward to the clover for a while.
