I just ordered a package of bees from Sacramento Beekeeping Supply to be picked up on Saturday. I am very excited as I have been sort of bummed out by my laying worker hive.
since I had to put this site together rather quickly it is not as pretty as the other beehives. Oh well, the bees don't care. I will take a photo after I hive them on Saturday.
I just layed down bricks and will use sand to level the whole thing. A friend from work is giving me back 10 frames of drawn out wax combs for a full deep super. (I had previously given those wax combs to him to start a hive, but he changed his mind) I will cut them down to medium size and the package bees will get a good jump start on the new hive.
I am going to start the first brood box on starter strips, as I do not have the time to get over to Woodland to Mann Lake to purchase the PF 120's. I hope they do OK on just the starter strips. I will place a few drawn combs in between the starter strips.
Take care and thanks for listening.

Annette, we are always here to listen to what you have to say. Good luck with the new litter. ;)
