my bees are about 40 ft from the road, but looking down on the road from up about 30 ft, it was the best place i could find where they wouldn't be in the shade and also away from people and the garden.,
should it make any difference in the bees life or production, we're on a country rd with not muc traffic most of the day. thanks
I would'nt think so maybe you might have an issue with people seeing your hives and messing with them. what are you worried about?
Bees will fly almost straight up when they leave. A few cars might disturb a few bees, but when you have 50,000 bees, a few won't hurt anything.
I live off of a rural route which is fairly busy in the AM. Off to the right of me is a hill billy hick road with very little traffic at any part of the day. The RR is about 100 yards away with a good bit of foliage in between the road and the house. The hill billy hick road, about the same distance. I don't have any problems at all.
Are you concerned about bees getting hit by cars? I'm sure it happens although not so much will you will notice anything.

Bassman 1977, that was some pretty interesting jargon. There is something about the word hill billy that intrigues me, no clue why, but it does.
Octagon, it sounds to me like you have a very good location for your bees, no worries. Have that beautiful and most wonderful day, Cindi

The town I live in and the surrounding areas are as a fine example of hill billy, Podunk (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=podunk) (see #3 on this list), red neck, hee-haw area, as it gets in PA.
