Title: Chickweed
Post by: watercarving on May 09, 2008, 10:37:46 AM
We have a weed in our pastures here called chickweed. It's yellow and there's millions of blooms on right now. Very small flowers. Does anyone know if this is a good bee crop for nectar and/or pollen?

Bees ignore it in my yard for most part. Prefer Dandelion which is bloming at same time and fruit trees .

It's generally self-pollinating.  It is good though in salad and tea.  High in vitamins and minerals.
