Title: Bees in Water Meter Housing, Interviewed About CCD For Local News Story
Post by: JP on May 09, 2008, 08:26:43 PM
I removed a sweet lil colony from a water meter housing. The numbers were small so I combined them with a queenless colony. The combine may or may not make the local news.

I did get interviewed by our local channel 4's Mike Hoss, who I removed bees for two weeks ago. He is doing a story that will air next week or the one after so I am told.

It will be about honeybees in Louisiana and Katrina's impact as well as the issue of ccd, which we haven't seen show its face here.

After the interview we tried some fresh comb honey, mostly clover, very light and tasty.

Will provide a link to the clip when it becomes available.

Ya'll have a good one.

Bahahahahaahaah, I don't think so. Maybe 2 minutes of fame, attention from family members, wife, friends.

I'm not sure of the impact, assume a bunch of trees that fell over with hives in them, absconding had to take place, even some flood houses.

Here's one that had about, and I kid you not approx 250lbs of comb after the big "K". (http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/9785/beepics471om6.th.jpg) (http://img230.imageshack.us/my.php?image=beepics471om6.jpg)

This colony was in three celing sections and went up and around the bathtub on the second floor and inside of the partition wall next to the upper bathroom.
