Title: Pollen colors
Post by: misfyredOhio on May 11, 2008, 02:15:20 AM
Is there a good resource out there for identifying the source of pollen that is coming into the hives: for example, I see workers bringing in pale yellow pollen. Last week, I saw deep red. I would like to know what it is.

Wow, great page to bookmark (which I did)  I love to see the different color pollen coming into the hives.

My red pollen is from a bottlebrush tree.

I too enjoy seeing the colors.  I don't collect pollen yet in a collector, but I get a few pollen packs knocked off onto the screened bottom board.  I especially like the electric blue pollen! (tulips?)  It is rare but it had better flavor than the average pollen that I've tasted.

Good resources! Thank you! They're bringing in pale yellow today.

This has no color noted, but it may help with time of year and what to expect...
