This morning I was already dressed for work. suit, tie, wing-tips. Whole nine yrds. I get a call from a nearby golfcourse. i say i cant do it. they callme back five minutes later beggging me to do removal. I ask all the questions. It was only four ft hight. So i go. It was a big swarm, about 7lbs of bees. Easy pickings too. Nice one limb branch, One shake, all in a deep w/ closed bottom and off i go. At home, I dump into another deep w/ queen excluder on bottom and off to work. Now my car is filled w/ stargglers and all. firts time for everything. You had to see the expressions on the golfers as we drive by on golfcart w/ hive on lap, stragglers flying around and me in a suit and tie. felt like a Carnival act w/ all the people gawking at us as i loaded up car and took off.
all by yourself you have redeemed your profession in my eyes :-D
Great story :) sent this to DH at work. He wasn't keen on getting bees but just a week in to having them he's loving it and talking about having several more hives next year - he works in suit and tie every day and I can just picture him doing the same thing in a couple of years :)
Thanks for the image :)
That must have been a sight, btw, keep that camera handy, you never know when you're gonna need it! ;) Great Job!

Tooo cool. I'd love to have been there to see that. Good for you doing it too. Bravo!
Yayyyy for you Konasdad!!
Like my cardiologist says to me...."yep, yep...youre doing good, youre doing good"
Those people who saw you probably thought you were an "Ultimate Master" of catching bees in you nice clothes!..Good thing it was in the morning huh?
your friend,
john
JP I had a camera, but no time to do anything but removal and off I went. It should also be noted, cologne made by beugeron(jaipur) does not annoy bees as much as coffee breath! And bees like Jerry Grarcia ties as well.
This is an unbelievable story Konasdad. Just love this story and what an experience. You are my hero for doing this. I would have been scared. But I haven't stepped over yet into the whole swarm thing yet. Next year for sure.
Take care
Annette
I also love Jaipur. Thank god the bees like it too.
hanging swarms are easy if you have easy access. Most are done standing on the ground. Try it!
