Today is pretty cool and clammy by the Delaware River. It's rained on and off the whole weekend. I needed to refill the hive top feeders so I quickly took off the tops to switch the old for the new. I found something different this time though. Most of the sugar water had not been used and had gone bad in both hives. Everything was in place and the bees seemed to be doing okay anyway. The only thing different from this time to last was that I added the second brood chamber last week (approximately seven of the frames was filled). I peeked in quickly and saw no activity in the upper chamber but I could hear the bees. Does anyone want to comment on why the bees did not seem to drink my sugar water this time? Could it be that there are enough flowers in bloom that they don't need the sugar water anymore? Any other suggestions or comments would be appreciated as usual.
Thanks Jester

Yes. It could be.
