We put sugar water front feeders on ours as soon as they are in the nuc/hive. Then try not to bother them for a full week. If it looks like there is very little activity after two days we might raise the cover for a very quick peek. We don't use an inner cover for this reason.
After a week we try to check just once a week.
Others probably have a different strategy. :)

The main thing is acceptance. If the bees are content to be in the new set up you've given them, leave them alone for a week. Offer them feed like any new colony. You can go in after a week & see what's up. If you have a virgin queen remember it can be 3 weeks before she starts laying so be patient.
