Hello, I am in north Louisiana and am interested in making some new colonies. I have 12 strong colonies now. I also have for the taking 5-three frame nucs. I was wondering if I was to take a couple frames of brood and fresh eggs from some of my existing colonies and put then in a nuc and move to a new location. By doing this would these bees make their own queen and start a new colony. Any suggestions Thanks Tracy
I'm new to beekeeping, But from what I have read, that is the thing to do. Wait for the gurus to chime in.

Chances are very good they will requeen themselves and there are plenty of drones around right now so they should get mated fine as well.
