Lady said these had been there for one week, people just don't know for sure really, so I uncovered one fine little colony, very gentle. Check out the cardboard nuc, has promise, easy to put together too.

So was there any brood? Can't really judge the amount and size by the pics, but I have seem a lot of comb made in just a couple of days. Even had a bunch of eggs in it.

Hey Jerry, they could have easily have done that in a week, I just spiced up the title a lil bit, it worked huh? :-D
The lady wanted her plant pot back so I had to turn the pot over, hated doing that, they really don't like that much as you know, I would have preferred to just bust it open a little and keep the combs positioned how they were, oh well, it worked though.
They did have brood, I filled 5 deep frames with it.

Love the pics as usual JP. I specially like the bees rimming the pot! I have tons of pots laying about...no bees come here.. :(
That nuc looks cool, do the frames just slip in? What do they rest on? Inquiring mind wants to know! Jody

Hey Jody, the bees rimming the pot get to me too, it just looks cool!
Where the frames rest is a bend over flap, this is actually an area that I could see needing improvement, but it works, the flap bent over makes a sort of half a$$ shelf.

Do you like the cardboard nucs? How long do they last outside?

Just started using them, don't think they'll hold up outside with inclimate weather. They're more temporary than anything.
