Hello all,
I've just heard of your forum :). After giving it a 'once over' I liked what I saw (very progressive :) ).
I live and keep my bees in an area not associated with beekeeping usually ,but hey !, my bees aren't aware of this and carry on doing a good job.
I have kept bees for more than 18 years (the earlier ones the best, no varroa etc. :)).
doubtless I'll find some kindred spirits as I continue to read the posts.

Welcome from Michigan!
Being a conservative, I'm not sure what you mean by "progressive", but as far as beekeeping goes...well then I suppose I am somewhat progressive, trying stuff out , playing around, not doing what some of the old beekeepers say (according to the book!).

Hi Rick,
I also am conservative by nature :), I was referring to the site ( voice chat etc.).
I know you guy's are ahead of us Brits with your experience of various bee ailments CCD etc, and just wondered how research into the problems are getting anywhere near resolving the problems ?.
The problems are beginning to affect the UK but our department responsible for animal health is in denial although beekeepers are reporting big colony losses !
As a newbie on this forum, I haven't had time to read it all, maybe the answer to my question is already on here somewhere :).
Thank you for your welcoming response.
John Wilkinson

John, welcome to our forum, 18 years with the bees, you are a lucky man. This is a place where you can spend time, make new friends, you will have your tales to tell, and we are all listening. We are an interested group (and some of us nosier than others, hee, hee). Tell us your tales.....it seems that lately we have had quite a few members coming from your neck of the world, that is very cool. Stick around, you will totally enjoy the time you spend with us.....have that most beautiful and wonderful day, love our lives we live and share. Cindi
