Title: Gamebird pictures
Post by: Shawn on June 19, 2008, 02:29:29 PM
As some of you know I worked part time on a wild gamebird farm. The guy raises about 70,000 birds a year. Here are some of the pictures I have taken at the farm. The picture of the baby birds are ring neck pheasants.

I enjoy a lost pheisant from time to time around my hives.

But I have usually a family of red partridge living near the hives.

Red partridge is my favorite bird. Hard, brave, noble...

When there are so many pheasants in one pin they will pick each other to death. Other birds do the smae but not like the pheasants do. The pins are 150' X 50' and there are about 600 to 800 per pin.

Abejaruco, what cute video! I'm always amazed at how many little ones can fit under a mom!  Love the noises Mom makes talking w/chicks!  Jody
