Title: Burr comb
Post by: GaryMinckler on June 23, 2008, 10:03:25 PM
Today during an inspection I scraped a lot of burr comb of the bottom of some frames that were loaded with larva.  Is that bee larva or some kind of parasite?

It is usually drone brood. Why scrape it off? It is good to open a few to check for mites.

Why  not do both? I scrape it off and look inside for mites on the brood.
