I have read that bees do not recycle wax. I just saw it happening.
I have some old wax thrown into a container here close to the house for the bees to scavenge from. I was just out there checking on the bee's waterer and glanced into this container. There were two bees digging wax off of old comb and packing it on their legs. Yes it was wax. One was on a light colored piece of comb and the other was digging from a darker piece.
I always wondered that. good I will start leaving my scraps out for them

I haven't seen them do it much. Don't know why today would be special. So I really don't know how much they actually do this. I was gone for awhile and will look to see if they were doing more a little later.

There was a bee out there gathering more wax. Could have been one of the same ones back for another load.

My local Ace Hardware has 20% off 1st Saturday of every month. It's hard to even get into the store that day. Wax day must be the bee version.
The moon phase must be waxing gibbous. :-D
It has been some rainy weather so I haven't thought much about this but today is nice and sunny and I thought I would check it out. Sure enough at this random moment that I happened to walk by and peek onto the tub I got the wax in, there were two bees gathering wax and sticking it to their legs.
Has anyone else noticed this yet?
Musta been getting ready for a date if they were waxing their legs... :-D
