Title: How long?
Post by: rast on July 12, 2008, 11:03:45 AM
I picked up a deep of bees this morning and moved them about 1/2 mile. How long should I leave the reorientation branch in front of the hive. I figured one day should do it.

1 or two days should, I'd leave it two.

If I remember about, I leave it one day, but chances are I forget to move it out of the way and either the wind knocks it out or I get it next visit.  Either way one day or two as JP mentioned.

Thank's, I'll have to put it back up. Just had a hard thunderstorm, 2" off rain in about 30 minutes and still raining. Poor bees are so packed I can see them still bearded on the front of the box in this rain. Praise the Lord for the rain though. (Ex) commercial beek left four hives down here in Jan. This was a swarm off of one of them. He told me this week to do whatever I wanted to with them. He was not coming back this year. Three are four deep and one is three deep and this single.
