Title: combining nuc with hive
Post by: randydrivesabus on July 16, 2008, 11:08:25 AM
I tried to save a queen who was not performing well in her hive by requeening that hive and putting her in a nuc. i checked the nuc yesterday and couldn't find her or any sign that she did anything queenlike in the nuc. so now I have a nuc with bees but no queen so I would like to combine it with another hive. The nuc's bottom board is not removable. Should I dump the nuc bees and their frames into a regular hive body and then newspaper combine? I can't think of any other way to do it. I wish I had a queen cell ready to go.

I'm not going to try to save any slackers in the future.

Just dumb the bees on the ground in front of the hive.
