Title: When to feed, is it now?
Post by: Gware on July 18, 2008, 08:41:46 PM
It is getting dry here in central ky and my mom spilled some pop outside on the ground and she said honeybees really covered that spot. Does this mean they are having a hard time because it is getting dry?

How established is the hive?  Is something blooming?  Is there water near by?  Can't blame the field girls for stopping on some free A & W.  If established hive in 2 boxes of drawn out comb, brood, stores . . . prolly don't need to feed yet.  If still drawing out comb and no flow on, could use some feed I imagine.
