No that is an OB Hive!! That is sweet, swivels and everything I am guessing? 3 deeps and a medium up top? I would love to get a look at that. I know that I could build it if I could see it. That is absolutely beautiful.

Ken, from what I could see it looks like a magnificent piece of woodworking.  Did you build it?  Thanks for sharing this picture, lovely and...have the most beautiful and wonderful day, Cindi

My wife is a little nervous, she keeps asking me to reassure her that there won't be bees loose in the house. :)

Very rarely I get one that flys in from outside. The hive has a double door setup to remove the top from the turn table.

We did have a little incident last week. I came home from work and my wife was trying to catch little bees in the office with a cup. My little 4 yr old had pulled the tube from the window for about 30 secs and we got about 15-20 that came inside. I was amazed at how calm she was, but she had learned that they really don't try to sting and/or attack. She did a great job of catching them and then releasing them back outside. Best of all I did not get beat when I got home :-D

If i do get a bee or two I let them fly to a window. Then i put a glass over them and slide a playing card between the window and the glass(or plastic)cup, letting the card become the lid and then let the bee loose outside.

mine is the apitherapy model.  it has little doors that you can swivel open to take a bee or two out.  my granddaughter, the same one that had to self train on the electric fence, could not resist opening the little door to look inside.  fortunately, only one bee came out and was easily captured.  :-)

i fear this child takes after her grandmother a bit.

Kathy,
I think that your granddaughter and my youngest daughter would get along just fine. Mine keeps pulling the clear tube out and watches them all fly out. She loves it. I have to find a way to fasten the clear tube into the window. Lovely little demons aren't they

Oh children, are they not the joy of life.  These little adventuresome young people, the antics that children do always bring that beautiful smile to my face.

Kathy, I remember you telling us about your little Grandaughter that checked out the electric fence....what a gal  ;) :) :) :)  AND, I can bet my bottom dollar she will be just like her Grandmother when she grows up.  Kathy, tell us some of your tales when you have taken your mare out on those overnight rides, I am serious....take us to your memories.....I, for one, would love to hear your tales....take that time girl, take me there.  Beautiful and wonderfully awesome day, Cindi
